Chicken Out
We generally buy free range or organic chicken already. If you don’t look at Hughs campaign to find out why you should.
You may have seen a trailer for The Big Food Fight. I was looking forward to an amusing documentary with the three celebrity chefs scrapping but it is a collection of programmes about food and where it comes from. I haven’t watched Hughs Chicken Run which was the first of the series but hopefully I will get a chance tonight.
You and Jamie visited your free range chickens in suits and footware covers and then went into the battery hens in the same foot ware, this would be unacceptable in a normal battery chicken environment. If you are trying to convience people that you are doing right for all chickens the least you can do is get the basics correct. My husband works at a chiken hatchery and they have to shower into work each morning. They have clean clothes each day that don’t leave the hatchery. We don’t even do that in our hospitals!!! I would appreciate your comments. I am a country girl who has been brought up with the breeding/killing/eating of all livestock.

I have moved your comment here - I think you clicked on the image and it took you to the wrong place - I have fixed that now. I watched the first episode of Hugh’s programme tonight. I don’t think he has a problem with the country life in fact from what I have seen he seems to relish eating most things and doesn’t shrink at the sight of blood. I think his concern is with the way animalsl are treated and looked after before they are killed. I generally agree with him even though I am not a country boy. I don’t mind paying a but extra for chicken or any other meat that is free range or organic - I think this is a good thing for farmers as they do actually farm rather than run a factory (in my opinon) Perhaps now the links is working again you can convey your views a bit more directly.

I was hoping that someone could drop me a link of other reports that might tell us about how much time is left before we can’t fix global warming? EarthLab.com has a pretty could article here but I want some other opinions. Man just think how the bad will be if we don’t prevent this.
