Organic food

David Miliband the environment, food and rural affairs secretary is right when he says organic food is a lifestyle choice - a choice we should all be making!

Although I think it is probably true that it is not necessarily better for you. I think in some ways this misses the point though. Organic farming is good because it looks after the land and looks after wildlife as I understand it anyway.

If all farms were organic perhaps there were be fewer chemical factories producing nasty pesticides. Perhaps the decline in farming that is always talked about might reverse and create more rural jobs and post offices?

The fact that it has less chemicals in is an added benefit as far as I am concerned. I think the organic organisations miss a trick by not emphasising this enough.
