Fusion Hits Stores. Pandemonium Over Crazy Orange Package! - Gizmodo
Fusion Hits Stores. Pandemonium Over Crazy Orange Package! – Gizmodo – Since Christmas I have reverted to an old fashioned single bladed razor and brush that I was given as a present. I have noticed an improvement it the quality of my shave since I did this. It was a bit of a worry when I first started using it as I was concerned that I would cut my face to shreds but it is no harder to shave with than it’s more modern counterparts.
There are a number of things that make this method of shaving more friendly to the planet.
- I use shaving soap with a brush rather than getting foam or gel out a can – this reduces the amount of waste I produce. At some point I want to get some organic soap to do this.
- I would rather throw away a metal blade rather than some metal encased in some complicated plastic contraption – actually the metal could probably be recycled quite easily but it sits a bit better with me throwing a away the blade rather than the plastic.
- The blades are cheaper – £1.99 for a pack of 10 rather than about £5.00 for 5. Although there does seem to ‘premium’ blades you can get that are probably an equivalent. The ones I have seem fine to me though! I would guess that they use less resources to make as well.
- The actual razor was cheaper – my wife to be thought it was bit too cheap for a Christmas present. It is not the best quality razor but it does the job and I am very happy with it. Again it is a pretty straightforward design that I would guess uses less resources to manufacture.
Generally it has made my mornings easier, cheaper and almost guilt free!
