Scenes from a Smallholding

Scenes from a Smallholding My lovely wife to be gave this book to me for Christmas. It’s very funny – the writing style is a bit like Bill Bryson. It does make you want to do what Chas and his family did but at the moment I am going to stick with my back garden – try and actually grow something in it this year!

I think one of the most interesting points he has made so far – I haven’t finished reading yet – is about being organic or vegetarian. It’s something I have thought about before but he puts it slightly more eloquently than my thoughts have. Baisically he says you can be either organic or vegetarian but not both – which makes sense when you read it!

    Hi!
Thanks very much for your kind comments about my book! I’m dleighted that someone ‘out there’ likes it.
The organic vs vegetarian issue is somethig I think everyone should work out for themselves. There is no easy solution, I don’t think.
Just by the by, if anyone out there is interested in a proposal for setting up organic communities in East Anglia, please take a look at ‘More Scenes from a Smallholding’.
Best wishes to all Chas G. (no relation to Ali).
